that it is better to be hated for what you are than liked for what you're not

I really like that quote. It pretty much means don't try to be fake just to get attention. Be who you are and if society can't accept that than so be it. Why pretend to be fake? Isn't it tiring?
It's like telling a lie. You always have to cover up your previous lie with another one and sooner or later the truth will come out. It WILL come out. So why not be honest and tell the truth now and be hated less than later when the pain will hurt more and the hate is stronger?
