Engineers make it happen
Friday, March 11

Today I attended an engineering class like thing at Prairiewood High School. It was a really great experience. We had third year students from UNSW talking to us about the course they're doing and how engineering is fun and a great career. We also had people who are engineers to talk to us and some hands on activities which my group failed at. These hand on activities were creating a catapult and making a paper airplane. Both in which the winner is determined by how far the marshmallow or plane travelled in a straight line without going outside of the mat.

Morning tea and lunch was really nice as well. The event was sponsored by subway so for morning tea we had a subway cookie with a choice of either a bottle of water or a juice bottle. For lunch we had the choice of choosing a 6 inch sub with either turkey, ham or salami. Again we got to choose what drink we wanted.

A lot of schools attended this event but hurlstone had the most attendance. I think bonnyrigg high school only had 5 or so people go whereas hurlstone had like 20-30. LOL.

So again it was a really great experience. I got to learn more about engineering and the different types of engineering, as well as getting myself a free pen. Hehe!

But no, seriously it was amazing. I would go to it again if I had the chance to.
